Workforce Development Program
While our organization was founded on and is known for its work in housing, NHS of Queens prides itself on guiding itself to the needs of the communities it serves. One of those needs is employment. In particular, we are equipping our neighbors with the skills and tools to navigate the ever-changing employment landscape. In 2017, in partnership with the LaGuardia Airport, our elected officials, ELMCOR, and the Council for Airport Opportunity, the LaGuardia Career Center was founded and has worked in job readiness and connecting our neighbors to job opportunities at one of the largest employers in Queens, Laguardia Airport. Learn more about the Career Center and how you can get help with resume help or connected to job opportunities at LaGuardia Airport.
Additionally, in 2021, NHS of Queens expanded its workforce development program by integrating digital literacy programs to equip our neighbors with the digital skills to widen their job opportunities. In partnership with UnidosUS, Verizon & Google, Queens residents can learn new digital skills for free. Learn more about our digital literacy programs.
