What we do

NHS of Queens is a HUD-certified housing counseling agency. That means our homebuyer counseling meets federal standards and our certificates are accepted by lenders, SONYMA, and city and state programs. But more importantly, it means we sit down with you — in English or Spanish — and walk through what's actually involved in buying a home, before you spend a dollar.

For 30 years, we've helped 827 first-time homeowners — almost all from low- or moderate-income households — buy their first home in Queens. Total mortgage financing secured: $148.6 million.
