A Community-Centered Proposal for Corona, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, and East Elmhurst in Queens, New York.

The neighborhoods of Queens Community Districts 3 and 4 These neighborhoods have also experienced many hardships, and in having to find creative solutions to move forward they have exemplified the meaning of community building. The COVID-19 pandemic, for instance, was detrimental to the area, as Queens faced the largest number of deaths and infections in New York City. After the peak of the pandemic, Hurricane Ida then flooded the area, leading to ten deaths and many more without a place to call home.
